This particular version of the Kings Arms was first used around 1401 by Henry IV.

The Kings Arms was unsurprisingly, not a dreadfully popular name during Cromwell's Commonwealth, but blossomed in popularity after the restoration of the monarchy.

This version is typical in the way it is embellished.
