The green man makes an appearance on a tree in Haughmond woods walk.
I heard a tale from a local about the tree that a man had tried to calve his, and his beloveds, name onto the tree, as many other trees have names on them (the earliest one I could see being from 1962) and the tree absorbed him forever as a punishment for harming it.
