Captain Zealy Moss reburied in the family plot at Springdale Cemetery. Captain Zealy Moss served as a wagon-master and in the Commissary Department as an assistant quartermaster. He enlisted in Loundoun County, Virgina in 1777 and served two years. He reenlisted in 1780 and served to the close of the war. Following the war he first moved to Indiana and then to Illinois. He was born in Loudoun County, Virginia March 5, 1755 and died in Peoria County, Illinois October 30, 1839.

Captain Moss's father also served in the Revolutionary War as a chaplain.
