The Fort Madison Depot was built in 1910 according to the guide at the museum. Currently it is undergoing renovation. They are raising it up 4 feet to prevent flooding. It did house a Rail Museum that has been relocated across the tracks to the BN depot. It is not currently open to the public but will be reopened when the they finish renovating the depot.

According to an article I read the depot will be used as an Amtrak Station when it is completed.
