The arms of this bench were designed to resemble tree branches.
The plaque reads:
"DEDICATED IN MEMORY OF
OUR FATHERS
The Grand Army of the Republic, by the
Illinois Dept., Daughters of Union Veterans
OF THE CIVIL WAR
1861 - 1865"
This bench is listed in the Smithsonian Inventory but the artist is unknown. It is dated at 1904.
