This historical Burlington Northern/Rock Island depot, built in 1896, was the first train station to be constructed in Wright County. It operated as a depot until 1980 and was then restored by the Dows Historical Society eight years later to create today’s Dows Depot Welcome Center. A museum with railroad memorabilia and items of local historical significance are on display at the south end of the building. The depot was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993 under the number #92001744.
