Borough boundary between Merton & Morden and Sutton & Cheam. The new sign also shown. Also the boundary between the old Surrey and London areas before they were changed in the 1960s.

As you leave the London Borough Of Sutton (formerly Sutton & Cheam) on the A24 London Road (once Stane Street, a Roman Road by all accounts, you enter the London Borough of Merton (formerly Merton & Morden).
One side of the road has the brand new metal sign, the other has this old style boundary marker.
Which do you prefer?
The old marker is on the east side of London Road at the junction with Elm Road West.
