Ephraim is the largest city in Sanpete County largely due to the presence of Snow College.

Snow College always sounded like my kind of school. You could get your degree in skiing or maybe studying how to make better artificial snow or become a ski patrolman. Imagine my disappointment when I learned that it got its name from Lorenzo Snow, president of the LDS Church from 1898 to 1901.

The College, founded by the LDS Church but a state institution since 1932, is the primary reason for a jump in population of over 30% in just the last decade.
