Enterprise exists mainly to support those who are involved in the agricultural industry in the area.
The site of the infamous Mountain Meadows Massacre is a short distance to the south and provides some tourist traffic through the town.
The town was settled by Mormons and remains largely Mormon in its makeup. In the 1900s it had a short growth spurt when virtually the entire population of nearby Hebron moved to Enterprise because had been decimated by an earthquake and Enterprise had survived almost totally inscathed.
