In the Surf City of Raglan it seems appropriate to find a unique gate sculptured with a design like the rolling waves in Manu Bay, the nearby world-famous surfing spot.

This gate is obviously an original design, representing the surfing waves this town is famous for, or perhaps the swirling curls could also be interpreted as the "koru" designs from traditional Maori patterns.

The gate is made of steel sheet metal patterns on a framework with a brushfence background for privacy. Painted in black with white crests, it resembles the breaking waves.

It can be viewed on Wainui Road.

Raglan is a unique and idyllic town situated on the rugged West Coast of the North Island.
It is world renown for its black volcanic sand and famous left hand surf break at Manu Bay. This break attracts surfers from all over the world and has been host to many International surfing competitions.
