Metropolis, Illinois the only Metropolis listed in the US Postal Service's zip code directory. In Superman's adopted home town, across the street from the 15-foot tall, 2-ton statue of the Man of Steel, sits the Super Museum. It contains over 20,000 items relating to the Superman legacy, including his first appearance in comic books and other post modern adaptations. The Super Museum is the life's work of Jim Hambrick, who also owns the Superman souvenir and collectibles store you pass through to reach the museum entrance. The museum has everything that you can imagine and a few things that you may never think of. The museum even contains a costume that George Reeves wore when filming "The Adventures of Superman" in black and white. Even though the museum does not contain all of Jim's collection, if you are a Superman fan, you will want to see this museum at least once.
