To receive a cancellation stamp visit the Flaming Gorge Dam Visitor center at Dutch John location. The friendly staff will provide the two stamps for you to stamp your NPS passport book.

Flaming Gorge was named by John Wesley Powell. It was on May 26, 1869 that Major Powell and his men saw the sun reflecting off of the red rocks and named it Flaming Gorge. The Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area was established by Congress October 1, 1968. The area contains 207,363 acres of land and water, almost equally divided between Utah and Wyoming.

The Flaming Gorge Dam Visitor Center near Dutch John is the location to receive the NPS cancellation stamp. There is a very nice visitor and information center at the Dam. This is a great place to visit, camp, fish, or just enjoy.
