In this rather implausible episode a Ministry official is going to carry out an audit on a secret military laboratory, run by Professor Rushton. En route the ministry official and his car disappear whilst momentarily out of sight of the motorcycle escort. The disappearance occurs because the car has been miniaturised by Dr Chivers, using an invention from the laboratory.
The laboratory is home to an advanced armoured car, which is to be shown to foreign dignitaries. Dr Chivers decides to miniaturise the armoured car and smuggle it out of the laboratory and sell it to a foreign general. Unfortunately, Steed is in the armoured car when it is miniaturised.
In a case of mistaken identity, the foreign general tries to kidnap the daughter of the head of the laboratory, but kidnaps Mrs Peel outside the daughter’s home instead. After several changes of scale for Mrs Peel and Steed everything is restored to normal, except for a Shrunken Dr Chivers and the foreign general.
The real location of Professor Rushton, and his daughter is the Old Vicarage, North Mymms.
