John Wargo of Troop 1930 in Fauquier County, VA installed 24 numbered posts with signs identifying trees along the handicapped-accessible trails of Hogue TractClick for related waymark to open in new window for his Eagle Scout project in 2001. The tract is a part of the Chester F. Phelps Wildlife Management AreaClick for link to open in new window. The trail is closed to the general public during hunting season since it is used by disabled hunters, but opened from February 1 to September 30.

John worked jointly with Asst. Wildlife Biologist Robert Hensen to complete his concept. According to an articleClick for article to open in new window published in the Fredericksburg Free-Lance Star in November 2003, another Eagle Scout built benches on the trail.

A sign at the kiosk in the Hogue Tract parking area says there are self-guiding pamphlets to follow the numbered posts. Slots are there, but ten years after this project was completed, no pamphlets are available. It isn't necessary since each sign provides ample information and description. Unfortunately, a couple of signs are missing, probably due to the elements and perhaps, vandalism. Nonetheless, it provides an interesting nature walk for both the able and disabled hiker.
