After being engage about 10:30 A.M. East of Brotherton's the battery followed its brigade in the Brotherton's field. Soon after 11 A.M. firing a few rounds, and then advanced to a position near the Dyer house, where it fired one round, when it again advanced to this ridge about 11:45 A.M., and opened fire upon a part of the Union artillery and trains escaping through the Vittetoe Gap. One gun was run forward to the knoll in the Vittetoe field, to fire through the gap. Between 1:15 and 1:45 PM the battery left this position and advanced to the attack on Snodgrass Ridge.
