These vintage pumps are part of a restored gas station display at COSI, a large science museum, in Columbus, Ohio.
And, there is the black Volkswagen Beetle which belonged to this era when Sinclair stations, with Dino the dinosaur, were common landmarks in the United States, before being replaced in most places by Arco stations in 1969 in the west and BP in the east. In 1976 Arco divested the Sinclair division and there are now over 2,500 Sinclair stations in twenty western states, bringing back the familiar Dino logo.
The original company dates back to 1919 when Harry F. Sinclair consolidated several holdings. There is quite and extensive company history to be found at the current Sinclair Oil Company web site.
