The marker reads as follows:

Robert M. Evans
1847 - 1924

For over 50 years a gospel preacher, Evans
with his wife Ida, arrived in Nassau, Bahamas
on January 4, 1910, to become the first Church
of God missionary to foreign soil. His sincere
efforts were the foundation upon which a
world wide missionary ministry was built. Many
have followed him, but he was the first of his kind.
