King Mountain is one of the highest points in Gatineau Park, and the southern slopes are part of the Eardley Escarpment which is the northern wall of the Ottawa-Bonnechere Graben.
Despite the steep slopes it is very popular with visitors to the park because of the proximity to Ottawa/Gatineau and the well maintained trails.
At the top of mountain is a large stone cairn commemorating the first Geodetic Survey triangulation station in Canada, 692203 - QUEEN, and the metal tripod with the benchmark beneath it is not far away.
Altitude in Feet: 1115
