This church was built in 1877 paid for by a wealthy family who lived in a nearby stately home. It was built in the memory of Charles William Earl Fitzwilliam KG and his wife by their children.
It was built on a grand scale has a spire almost 200 feet high and can seat 500.
The much older church that pre-dates this one still stands, although it is partly derelict. It also has its own cemetery, and is just across the road.
The cemetery at this church is divided into a number of different sections, quite far apart. There is nothing that says what the different sections are and why they are so far apart.
The cemetery is well maintained and still in use.
