In front of the Royal Exchange is a sculpture of Wellington on a horse. Behind the rear of the sculpture there is a paving slab made from granite from London Bridge and, by association, from Dartmoor. The paving slab is inscribed and reads:

"Granite from London Bridge / (1825 to 1967) commemorating / the assistance given by the / Duke of Wellington to the / passage of the London / Bridge Approaches Act 1927"
