The Wildflower Trail is a .5 mile cinder-surfaced trail that follows along the route Gen. Stonewall Jackson took when he marched from the Shenandoah Valley to Fredericksburg through New Market GapClick for related waymark to open in new window during the Civil War. Interpretive signs point out interesting facts about the effects of the changing forest and seasons on the flora and fauna and how human and environmental influences have affected the landscape.

The trailhead is located at the parking lot to the old Massanutten Visitor Center. The Visitor Center is no longer opened, but parking and all trails are still available. The trail ends at a road with a picnic area. The road is no longer accessible by vehicle.
