L'Ecole Polytechnique Montreal Massacre Memorial - Kingston, Ontario - Disaster Memorials on Waymarking.com

This Memorial plaque was placed by Corrections Canada in 2001 to memorialize the 14 women killed in the Montreal Massacre. There is also a plaque nearby honouring the "courage, determination, spirit and intergrity" of women. There is a small memorial garden here as well. I first came here to find a nearby geocache, but was taken by the poigant reflection of one plaque and the empowering message of the other. A true disaster, that gave rise to knowledge and empowerment.
