The idea for this started with a local organization "The Maycourt Club of Brockville" wanting to do something special for a community project to celebrate their 50th anniversary. They partnered with BMAAC and the City of Brockville and the project was born. I was on the BMAAC committee at the time and advised on the design. It was great to be able to offer children with physical limitations a barrier free play structure. That was back in 2009 and the place is always busy with able bodied children and children with limitations alike.
There are many things that are unique here like a wheelchair ramp that accesses the whole structure and one real neat feature is the rubber surface that surrounds the whole structure. There have been lots of positive comments from the community and the users of the facility, so when you're in town stop by and check it out. You can also take a walk down by the river which is beautiful at this spot in Hardy Park.
Cheers
