This sign appears to be very new. It is a nice sturdy stone structure that welcomes everyone to Menahga, MN - Gateway to the pines. It is situated in a park like area that highlights pine trees and the peaceful forests of the area.
The sign sits just off of Highway 71 as you enter Menahga from the south. Lumber and pines play a part in Menahga's history and the area is also near the start of Minnesota's forest region, thus the slogan-Gateway to the Pines.
