A zinc spire, mounted on two zinc plinths and topped with a vase. This headstone measures approximately 6 feet in height.
The lower zinc plinth panels are simulated stone with one panel including the name "White Bronze Co St Thomas, Ont." This company had obtained the sole Canadian franchise for the products of the Monumental Bronze Company of Bridgeport, Connecticut. The upper zinc plinth contains four panels. Panels are dedicated to Michael Wilson Boucher, William Robert Boucher, William Boucher and Olive Eliza Boucher. The spire panels are in memory of Jeannie Cassels Ferguson, Harriet Hutchison, Harriet Boucher and Robert Thompson. It is interesting to note that the panel in memory of Jeannie Ferguson was added afterwards and is bolted over the top of the original spire side panel.
The spire panels are topped with draped curtains on all four sides. The vase shows some signs of damage and cracks perhaps from water and ice.
Additional research on the snowslide that killed Michael Wilson Boucher indicates that On February 19 shortly before 6 p.m., a snowslide at Downie, B.C. turned over a boxcar, instantly killing two CPR employees: division master mechanic M.W. Boucher and conductor Charles Treat.
