A sign near Yogi reads:
History in the making...The first Yogi Bear™ cartoon was
drawn by Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera
many years ago, followed closely by
the startup of our beloved Yogi Bear's
Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resorts.
This area has been designated for

and friends.

our part of cartoon and
camping history --
and don't forget
to take
pictures!
The first Jellystone Park campground opened in 1969. The Yogi Bear statue seen at the campgrounds across the country was inspired by a cartoon on TV when Yogi said, "OK Boo Boo, let's get our pic-a-nic baskets ready, the campers are coming!"¹
Don't forget to wave back if you're in the area!
