The Township of Athens, population 2800, is located about thirty minutes north-west of Brockville, Ontario. A small tourist town is famous for its large outdoor murals. It also plays host to several annual rural festivals including: Cornfest, Farmersville, and the Parade of Lights entertain local people and visitors from afar. Meanwhile, nearby Charleston Lake offers wonderful opportunites for swimming, fishing, boating, or just communing with nature.
This Athens is probably nothing like Athens, Greece, but I'd have more chances to visit here than Greece, so I'll take what I can get. Oh yes, there's also several caches in town as well.
