The welcome center/rest area is known as the Rocky Gap Safety Rest Area/Welcome Center. It is located on I-77 seven miles south of Virginia/West Virginia state line at mile marker 61.
The rest area is open to all vehicles 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The Welcome Center is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. They have information available about local and state attractions, weather, and traffic.
