The Clayton-Winchester Fire Department is authorized for a total of 40 firefighters. The area of protection is 72 square miles within the Townships of Clayton and Winchester. The fire department has a mutual aid agreement with the Towns of Menasha, Neenah, Vinland, Winneconne Combined, Oshkosh, Algoma, Omro, Boom-Bay, Greenville, and Dale.
The Clayton-Winchester First Responders can maintain a roster of up to 20 members, of which we currently have 15. The First Responders officially went into service on March 31, 1995. Their first call was taken in April of 1995, and by the years end, they had responded to a total of 52 calls. At the end of 2008, the unit had responded to a total of 140 calls, bringing the total since 1995 to 665.
