Yogi Bear was a cartoon created by Bill Hanna and Joe Barbara in the late 1950s. The first Jellystone Park campground opened in 1969. The Yogi Bear statue seen at the campgrounds across the country was inspired by a cartoon on TV when Yogi said, ""OK Boo Boo, let's get our pic-a-nic baskets ready, the campers are coming!"¹
