Current use of the building is uncertain. Needs to take out the middle two dogwoods in front to reopen view of the building.

Greeneville was granted $10,000 on November 3, 1913 to build a public library. This figure would be $1.2 million now as adjusted using the nominal GDP per capita. ref

Per the local walk tour, the Carnegie Library "served as the town's library until the 1970s when it moved to its present location on Main Street.
The library was actually started [with] a public restroom for women and so far as known was the first public restroom for women in Tennessee." ref Greenville Sun
