Freedom Plaza contains a giant inlaid stone map of Pierre Charles L'Enfant's original Washington, DC layout.

At the northwest corner is the White House, and the green of President's Park and Ellipse Park.

In the Southwest corner begins the green of the National Mall where the Washington Monument is.

The Mall extends towards the southeast corner, where a map of the Capitol Building is laid out on the ground. The diagonal street of Pennsylvania Avenue can be seen connecting the White House and the Capitol building.

The general layout of DC streets, as spokes of a wheel, radiating from the Capitol building can be recognized.
