Steamer Point Woodland is a beautiful area to explore along the clifftop between Christchurch and Highcliffe. This plaque commemorates the opening of this woodland to the public.

The plaque is located on a small building housing an information point. It reads:

'Steamer Point Woodland

These grounds were opened to the public on the 25th
September 1984
by
His Worship the Mayor of Christchurch
Councillor Eric Spreadbury.

Chairman of the Amenities Committee: Councillor
Mike Winfield.'

Below the plaque is a large ammonite with the rock it was originally found in.
