Tong lies at the bottom of a valley with farms on the hillsides on either side of the village. These days the farms all have good walls and fences, highly recommended with modern day traffic. However I guess before the days of cars, fences probably weren’t such an issue.
In any event this pinfold used to hold stray animals.
According to the sign on the gate it was restored for European Architectural Heritage Year 1975 and again in 2007.
It is located at the end of the cricket ground, which is next to the greyhound pub.
Approximate dimensions: 20 x 20 feet
Condition: Well preserved or restored
