The village sign is wooden and is made out of carved wood and in Green writing is 'Knapwell'. The date 1895 appears near the top which is a date significant to the village but research hasn't been able to locate why.

Knapwell is a small village in Cambridgeshire situated about 10 miles (16 km) west of Cambridge. It is within the diocese of Ely. Its population was estimated at 110 in 2001.
