To refresh the horse strength of the Habsburg empire in 1784 a govermental military stud was established in Mezohegyes. Around 1830 a lot if silo tower built to be able to storage enough feed for the upraised number of horses.
Today only seven towers remain, and only this one which is not in any use and can be visited.
