GG0826 SHIPPEY Azimuth Mark - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

This benchmark disk is the original 1934 azimuth mark for National Geodetic Survey (NGS) marker gg0826 "SHIPPEY". It was classified as "destroyed" by NGS in 1970, presumably because its concrete post is disturbed (leaning), though it is clearly not destroyed by everyday standards. This marker is mounted in a concrete post in a grassy area, about 1 ft east of a sidewalk just northwest of the intersection of E Detroit St and Lynn Lane (aka N 9th St, aka S 177th E Ave) in Broken Arrow, OK. This is just across the street to the north of Broken Arrow North Intermediate High School.
