This Chicago Northwestern Caboose blends in perfectly with the painted backdrop of a very realistic railroad mural. Boone is a railroad town, best known for the “Boone and Scenic Railroad” museum and rides.
Built in 1958 this extended vision caboose was originally known as Rock Island #17022. Rapido HO scale model railroad company recently released the original Rock Island #17022 version in 2010. The caboose at Boone now displays the CNW with the registration numbers 12566. It may be visited at the corner of 9th and Story Street. Steps lead up to each end, but the doors remain locked.
