The MassMutual Center is a state-of-the-art venue for conventions. The site was originally occupied by the Springfield Civic Center, which opened in 1972. When it became apparent that a larger facility was required to attract bigger conventions and events, the center was completely renovated and expanded. It was renamed the MassMutual Center and reopened in 2005.
The MassMutual Center offers the most diverse convention space in Western Massachusetts. Its 100,000 sq.ft of space can accommodate many different kinds of events. The convention center contains an elegant ballroom, five fully-functional meeting rooms, a 40,000 sf. exhibit space, plus a totally renovated 8,000-seat arena.
