This anchor dates back to circa 1840. The 2000lb porter anchor was used by a 500 ton 3 masted sailing ship which was 150ft in length. This particular anchor was salvaged by Captain Frank Santuccio of the Blue Waters fishing vessel on November 22, 1963. (source- plaque accompanying the anchor)
