Now know as the Station House Museum, on the grounds of the Old City Cemetery, this Chesapeake & Ohio railway station house was used in Stapleton, VA, Amherst County from 1898 until 1937.
The badly-deteriorated station was dismantled board-by-board and reconstructed to interpret the importance of railroads in the history of Lynchburg.
The furnishings and instraments in the Station Agent, Passenger, and Baggage Rooms are typical of the World War I era." text from sign
