Sandy City, the fifth largest municipality in the State of Utah, is particularly well known in the Salt Lake Valley for the high quality of life enjoyed by its citizens, and its vibrant and booming commercial growth. Yet, despite this growth, Sandy is a family community where children attend nationally recognized schools, and a myriad of cultural and family events dot the community calendar.
When Sandy City built their new building is was nick-named the Sandy City TajMahal.
Sandy City Hall is an essential facility with power and communication back-ups. The structure features vertical red brick columns framed at the top and bottom with EIFS (Exterior Insulation and Finish System), giving the appearance of granite.
The building’s special features include a computerized tower clock, police vehicle sally port, temporary detention holding cells, completed community-oriented police facility with multi-purpose community room, Zone 3 seismic design, state of the art category 5 telephone and computer network system, future expansion space of 5,900 ft2 on the third floor, and council chambers with public seating capacity of 299, including overflow area.
Sandy City Hall depends on a reliable and complex data center to meet the needs of not only routine city administrative issues, but police department communications. The voice data system is Cat 3, the computer system a Cat 5. Three hundred ports are in service. The MDF is fire sprinkled with a standard HVAC system. The facility has UPS and Powersystems 400 amp generation.
Includes prisoner processing area (sally port, holding cells, interrogation rooms), 500 sq ft. weapons room, 1000 sq ft evidence storage room, also outside storage facility for stolen property.
