Probably the first cable car to come into operation in Portugal on March 11, 1995, receives visits from all sources, is of Portuguese as a foreign, throughout the year. "At more than 50 feet above ground, 40 people - adults and children - lived yesterday a frightening experience. The aerial lift of Guimarães, broke down due to strong thunderstorm that was felt in minutes. The heavy rain struck the cab and for two hours the firemen brought him down by ropes 14 people. Another 26 went by his own foot after the booths have returned to work."
