The Cinemagic Drive-In, located at 1702 S. Jefferson Street in Athens, Alabama, opened on the night of Friday, May 23, 1997. It originally had one screen, and later, a second screen was added. The drive-in has a 210-car capacity. Instead of having the old-style speakers on poles, the Cinemagic uses a low-power FM transmitter, allowing patrons to hear the movie soundtrack in stereo on their car's FM radio. When this drive-in opened, it was the first theatre to operate in Athens since the early 1980s. It has operated every summer starting in 1997 except for summer 2001. The main screen is 54 feet by 24 feet in size.
