I remember a long time ago when there were still rails along this section. They were rarely used even back then, but I'd walk them and one day dream that I'd be an engineer like my grandfather. My passion for all things railroad, never diminished, but they finally took the rails and ties off the trail and made a recreation trail called the Brock Trail. You'd never know that this was an old train line with the exception of some plaques that remind you that the Brockville and Westport Line and station were along the path, as was the Grand Trunk Line. The path now goes under the CN Mainline through a tunnel (another waymark by the way) and meanders through the city. The trail is encouraged for use by pedestrian walkers, roller bladers and cyclists alike. When you walk along this trail, just take a few minutes and remember that long ago, large steaming behemoths rolled through here.
Cheers
