The "Southern Gentleman" makes a second appearance in Zippy the Pinhead comic strip.

If you take exit 6 off the Massachusetts Turnpike and look up and straight ahead you will be greeted by the large figure of the "Southern Gentleman". He is illuminated so that he is visible both by day and night.

Once he was painted as Uncle Sam and stationed outside a Springfield, MA automobile dealership. When the business closed he was acquired by the Plantation Inn, painted white, and placed in his present location at the edge of the parking lot.

This is the second appearance for the "Southern Gentleman" he was also featured in the strip "High Hat" published on 1/8/2001
