The Preaching Buddha was created by an unknown (Indian), sculptor. Two register bas-relief of seated Buddha on lotus blossom set on concrete base. Buddha is in full lotus position; hands set in a mudra; hair has distinctive top-knot; ears are elongated. Halo with low-relief decorative band is behind head; small figures at uppermost extreme right and left are cupping their ears. Two lions flank Buddha. Lower register contains group of figures flanking a wheel with two deer kneeling in foreground. Sculpture is made of bronze with base of concrete.
