Randi A. Bjorge has created a magnificent sculpture displayed in the Norwegian Gardens in the International Peace Gardens. A pylon made up of two parts and joined on the vertical axis by adhesive. The pylon tapers from a wide base to a narrow top. On the north side, the head of a serpent appears near the bottom of the sculpture and his body runs up the pylon. Representational images are carved on the south side. Images at the top relate to farming and family: mother and child, trees, deer, birds, and a farmer. The bottom half is comprised of fishing images such as fish, a fisherman, and a sailor behind a wheel. It is made of cast concrete and the dimensions are approx. 20 ft. x 35 in. x 16 in. We hope you will enjoy viewing this sculpture while you are at the gardens.
