At the road between Mieroszów and Kowalowa there is a simple concrete statue of a prisoner with name "Gross Rosen" and dedication "1940-1945 Ofiarom Faszyzmu" (to the Victims of Fascism). It reminds of the local branch of Gross Rossen concentration camp - more information about it can be found here: it was established in September 1944 and about 570 prisoners were working there. The production was focused on machinery manufacturing, mostly avaiation parts for Luftwaffe forces.
