The main sanctuary portion of St. Paul's Cathedral was constructed in 1904. Designed by Arthur Williams, it is a stone building in the Norman Gothic style. The nave which runs north-south has a tall gabled roof supported by wooden beams. There is a solid brick. half-hexagonal arch separating the nave from the chancel. The windows are rectangular, and although plain glass originally, they have been replaced with stained glass.

A large square tower on the northwest corner of the nave rises above the tall gabled roof. This tower has never had a bell. A Parish House was added to the nave at the right rear in 1909. This ell to the main building contained offices, kitchen, dining, a chapel, lounge and Sunday School rooms.

Then, in the mid-1940s the church made the decision to stay in the downtown area rather than moving to the suburbs. A large two-story Sunday School building was added to the east, making the complex a U-shape. Since 1982, the church has expanded 100%, with the building of the Dean Back building housing the administrative offices and community assistance ministries.

St. Paul's first service in this building was Easter Sunday in 1904.
